have you ever impulse purchased something because of the story? each of les bains guerbois signature perfumes have a great story. the portfolio is interesting because they basically commission each one from a perfumer based on a story inspired by a part of the history of the namesake bathhouse and let the perfumer choose whatever ingredients they want to use.

this one was inspired by the nightclub era of the bathhouse, in the 70s and 80s where it was host to many of the hottest names of music. it smells like nothing i have ever smelled in a perfume: the sharp freshness of peppermint, the ambiguous complexity of orris concrete (one of the most expensive ingredients) and the woody foundation. the man at the shop said while it makes sense to wear it in summer for some freshness, it's cooler to have the shock value of wearing it in winter.
